Outward Bound Singapore

11th Dec to 15th Dec

The trip to Pulau Ubin was a rocky one. Everyone boarded the boat as it sway from left to right, right to left. We were the eldest group there because most of them came from either seconday 3 or 4 of other school. The 5 day-camp was a tough. Kayaking and hiking was definately one of the plans to tire us out. Pitching the tent was also another pain in the butt, pitching and striking tents everyday without fail. The girls had to prepare our dinner and ration the food accordingly so that we will not run out of it. Everyone had their job and stick closed to their responsibility. Wild boars, bees, spiders etc. are just another "thing" which some of us are afraid of. Dead fishes are a common sight when comes to kayaking. The long walk through the jungle with our heavy bags is definately a burden to us. Everyone struggled. Complaint is a must for Samantha while noises are usually coming from the WHOLE group. Cut and bruises form a kind of tattoo on our hands and abrasion just seems to keep coming. The smell of see breeze is refreshing, but just wait until you feel the strong wind coming from the angry storm. Kayaking as a whole was never easy. Being the sweeper, the last kayak, had the toughest job. Not to catch up with the rest, but to encourage those lagging behind. Having to team up with a new partner in kayaking was not easy. Communication is always the lost ingredient to teamwork. But nevertheless, everyone pulled through with pure determination. Everyone might be burnt from the sun but it was all worthwhile.
